WHO WE ARE


Elizabeth Shreve is chief executive officer of Shreve Williams Public Relations, which she founded in 2006 under Elizabeth Shreve Public Relations. An 18-year veteran of the publishing industry, Shreve is the former vice president, director of publicity for Henry Holt and Company in New York. She joined Henry Holt in 1997 from Vintage Books where she was publicity manager. Prior to Vintage, Shreve held positions in the publicity departments of Dutton Plume, Counterpoint Press and Farrar, Straus & Giroux, Inc., where she began her career in publishing.

Shreve has worked with such notable authors as former Vice President Al Gore and Tipper Gore; Pulitzer Prize-winning authors Carl Bernstein, Rick Atkinson and Caroline Elkins; bestselling authors Dani Shapiro, Jeffrey Sachs, Barbara Ehrenreich, Salman Rushdie, Joyce Carol Oates, Paul Auster, Tony Horwitz, Atul Gawande, Diane Johnson, and Sue Grafton.

She is a graduate of Kenyon College and lives and works in Washington, D.C.

 

 




President of Shreve Williams Public Relations since its formation in 2007, Suzanne Williams is an 18 year veteran of the publishing industry and the former director of publicity for Pantheon Books, an imprint of Random House, Inc. Williams began her career at Farrar, Straus and Giroux, Inc. in New York in 1992 and was named senior publicist at Pocket Books / Simon & Schuster in 1995. In 1996 she joined Pantheon, where she remained until 2005.

Over the course of her career, the authors with whom Williams has worked include Nobel Prize winner Toni Morrison; Pulitzer Prize-winners Art Spiegelman and Carl Bernstein; National Book Award winners Ha Jin and Julia Glass; bestselling authors Brad Meltzer, Anne Lamott, Bernhard Schlink, Alexander McCall Smith, Marjane Satrapi, and Rick Bragg; National Book Award-nominees Charles Baxter, Alan Lightman, and Gene Luen Yang; former U.N. Chief Weapons Inspector Hans Blix; political and social commentator Angela Davis; former SEC Chair Arthur Levitt, and astronaut Sally Ride.

A graduate of Rollins College, she lives and works outside of New York City.

Kathleen Schmidt has worked in publishing for 15 years and joined Shreve Williams Public Relations as the director of publicity and digital media in 2010. She started her career in publicity at Carol Publishing in 1995 and in 1998 joined Penguin Group (USA), where she worked until 2006. As director of publicity for Dutton and Gotham Books she managed publicity campaigns for such authors as Eric Jerome Dickey, John Jakes, John Lescroart, and Diane Johnson.

In 2006 Schmidt joined Atria Books, a division of Simon & Schuster as vice president, director of publicity.  During her tenure there she oversaw the publicity campaigns for bestselling authors Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Weiner and the international bestseller, The Secret. She also helped launch the careers of Diane Setterfield, whose novel The Thirteenth Tale was an instant #1 New York Times bestseller, and Kate Morton, whose novels The House at Riverton and The Forgotten Garden were both New York Times bestsellers.  In 2009 Kathleen had the honor of working on The Time of My Life, a memoir by the late Patrick Swayze and his wife Lisa Niemi.

Kathleen is a graduate of Rutgers University-Newark, and lives in Northern New Jersey.
